Expatriate And Cross-Cultural Coaching
The Barton Insights team works with expatriates on a regular basis and we understand the specific and cultural challenges that can arise. Whether it is coaching to support an expatriate accompanying spouse or coaching as follow-up to intercultural training, we work with you to ensure that the relocation is a success and the fulfilling adventure it should be.
What is Cross-Cultural or Expatriate coaching for?
• To discuss relationships and cross-cultural dynamics at work or socially
to understand what might be happening, what is working and what is not
• To embed insights gained from a cross-cultural training programme
• To help an expatriate spouse adjust to the relocation and cope with their
specific challenges, including:
• Coping with a lack of a support network
• Making friends
• Understanding cultural differences
• Finding a new identity for themselves abroad
• Creating/pursuing their own vision for the international assignment
(professional or personal)
• To give the expatriate employee someone to speak with that is supportive and
external to the company
• For an individual to check that the assignment is on track personally and professionally or to create an assignment plan and goals
• To identify approaches or strategies that will improve cross-cultural communication
and get better results
• To provide a local national/country expert perspective |
